An Ansul system is a specialised fire suppression system designed for commercial kitchens. It automatically detects and suppresses fires caused by cooking oils, fats, and equipment, using a liquid chemical agent that rapidly cools flames and prevents re-ignition. It’s one of the most trusted systems for protecting kitchen staff, property, and operations.
The system uses heat-sensitive detectors to automatically detect fires in key cooking zones, such as under range hoods or over fryers. When activated, the Ansul system discharges a non-toxic liquid fire suppressant directly over the flame area, while simultaneously shutting off gas and electrical supply to the kitchen equipment—helping to contain the fire quickly and safely.
